The short version
- You don't need an account, and we don't set cookies.
- We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or identify you.
- If you email us, we use your message only to reply, and delete it 12 months after we've dealt with it.
- We don't sell your information, use it for advertising, or pass it to car park operators.
- The companies that run our hosting, database, email and fonts receive some technical information, such as your IP address, when your browser connects to them.
Who we are
Airportparkfinder ("we", "us") runs airportparkfinder.com, an independent comparison of off-site airport parking at Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide airports. You can reach us at hello@airportparkfinder.com.
When you browse and search
You can use every part of the site without an account. We don't set cookies or save anything in your browser's storage.
On the compare page, the airport and dates you choose are put in the page address so you can bookmark or share a search. Like any web address, it stays in your browser history. To show listings, your browser asks our database for the car parks at that airport; your dates aren't sent, and prices are worked out in your browser.
"Book directly" opens the operator's own website in a new tab. We don't pass your search or dates to them: their site sees only that you came from airportparkfinder.com. Anything you do there, including booking and paying, is covered by the operator's privacy policy, not ours.
On the Plan your trip page, the postcode you type is sent to our database to find matching suburbs and their distance to the airport. We don't save the postcodes people look up or link them to anyone.
When you contact us
When you email us, we receive your email address, your name if your email includes it, and whatever you write.
We use it only to:
- reply to you;
- check and correct a price or listing you've reported (we may contact the operator about the listing, but we don't tell them who reported it);
- deal with an enquiry about listing a car park; and
- handle a privacy request.
Your email goes to our inbox. We don't copy it into the website's database, add you to a mailing list, or send you marketing. We delete the email, and our replies, 12 months after we've dealt with your enquiry, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
Please don't send card numbers, passwords, or health or other sensitive information.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit each page and how quickly pages load. It doesn't use cookies or local storage and doesn't track you across other websites. We see totals, such as page views, referring sites, browser types and countries, not individual visitors.
Technical information
Like every website, the servers that deliver our pages receive your IP address, browser type and the address of the page you asked for. Our providers use this to deliver the site, block attacks and fix faults, and keep it in short-term logs. We don't use it to identify you.
Who else handles information
We use these companies to run the site. Each handles information only as needed to provide its service to us, under its own privacy policy.
- Cloudflare
- Hosts the site, protects it from attacks, runs Web Analytics, and forwards email sent to hello@airportparkfinder.com to our inbox. Cloudflare is a US company with servers worldwide. Privacy policy
- Supabase
- Runs our database of car parks, prices and postcodes, in Sydney. Supabase is a US company. It receives the requests described under "When you browse and search", not your emails. Privacy policy
- Provides the email inbox where your messages are kept (Gmail), and the font this site uses (Google Fonts), which your browser downloads from Google's servers. Google is a US company with servers worldwide. Privacy policy
- Tailwind CSS
- A content delivery network that serves the styling library the pages need. Your browser downloads a file from it, so it receives the technical information described above.
Information sent overseas
Our database is in Australia. Cloudflare, Google and the Tailwind CSS content delivery network may process information in other countries, including the United States, wherever their servers are.
Keeping it safe
Every page uses HTTPS. Emails you send us aren't stored in the website's database, and only the people who answer enquiries can read our inbox.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@airportparkfinder.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. Write from the email address you contacted us with, so we can find your messages and know they're yours. We'll reply within 30 days.
Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your information, tell us using the details above. We'll look into it and reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
When we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
